This is a good product and works great. The 2-1/4" notch was lined with a combination square and carefully cut out with a multi-tool. The instructions don't say the front screws adjust it for the thickness of the door. The front of the lock is slightly wider than the 2-1 /4" notch so it won't fit the edge of the door perfectly. Hold it and use a sharp knife to remove a small piece of material from the top and bottom if you want it to sit perfectly flush. Once up the lock is in the door, latch to pull the latch hook and slide into the jamb to make a mark. The mark shows where to slam.
