This is one of my best purchases. I bought this for my wife's MacBook Air for the meager 128GB which made it easy to use straight away. What was a nice surprise is that I can use this with my iPad Pro 2020 as well. It took a good minute or two for the files app to see it, but it worked and could read and write to files. The speed is not very fast, but I also don't use large capacity files like 8k files, but it can transfer 1080p and short 4K videos pretty fast (maybe due to HEIC on iOS). For the price I don't care if I wait an hour as many faster EHDs with a lot less storage are double the price of this HD. I don't remember having to format it to APFS (Mac/iOS) as the spec says it's NTFS, but if you're on a Mac use Disk Utility and erase the drive to APFS to make it work with your Apple products. If you are more tech savvy and want to use it for PC as well, use ExFAT for better compatibility. Great value for 2TB by the way, it's an HDD not an SSD. I can hear it spinning and humming when in use.
