Although there is a wide range of needle sizes and cord lengths at this price point, the longevity is not worth the investment. I'm quite a casual and new knitter and thought this would make a great starter kit. Unfortunately, after being used to make a blanket, the longer cord broke at the point where it connected to the pins, rendering it unusable. Also, the medium length cord had an end that didn't fit on any of the needles (too small and the threads didn't snag at all). The metal needles were great in terms of weight and feel and allowed the yarn to slide easily as you knit. They were quite light and comfortable to hold. After the cord broke and the yarn got stuck at the needle/cord connections (no matter how tight or how many times I checked the connections), I decided to try a different set and it's a lot better. I've knitted two blankets, a scarf and some hats with the new set with no snags, broken cords or poor seating between cords and different needles. I would not recommend this set if you plan to do heavy or high volume knitting as it will most likely not stand up to use.
