Review on Deepcool GAMMAXX 300 CPU cooler, silver/black/blue by Wiktor Borowski ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Expectations were not met, average quality.

Processor Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 (95W) with a slight overclock of 13% (up to 3.2Ghz), in a stress (CPU 100%) test 60-62 degrees in the heat (about 30 degrees in the room). At idle, it’s about 45 degrees, though it’s impossible to objectively evaluate here, because. the motherboard in idle mode reduces the multiplier and frequency even lower than the original one. Initially, the first installation was made on boxed thermal paste, which had already been applied to the contact pad of the radiator, the performance was about the same, but without overclocking. I got married. After 2-3 hours of operation, the fan stopped, I connected the old fan to the hot one to check, everything is spinning, which means everything is ok with the motherboard. I cling back from Deepcool, it does not spin. I checked for damage in the wire, effect 0 . I pressed on the fan and it spun, and worked for 2 hours in the same way. The procedure was repeated again, then I was ready to return it back to the store, but finally I pulled the fan back and forth (then there is, as it were, pulled out on itself and vice versa, pressed, pulled out, pressed), after which it has been spinning for the third day and does not stop. I removed the cooler and replaced the thermal paste with Titan (TTG-G30015), the results are described at the very beginning of the comment. As for noise, it's quieter than stock. In the stress test, there is no hum like from a regular one, and at the same time, as I wrote above, the temperature does not rise above 60 degrees (62 peak value for 4 hours of a stress test in the heat).

Pros
  • Large heatsink (reduces temperature even without a fan), heat pipes (3pcs, 2 ends, i. E. 6 ends). 4pin (PWM) speed controller. The box says that it copes with heat dissipation for Intel 130W and for AMD 125W (it's not clear where the difference comes from).
Cons
  • Not the best fan mount. There is no separate fastener for 775 (that is, it is universal and has wide grooves that need to be adjusted to the socket you need, in particular for 775 this is not very convenient). There is a possibility of marriage (I got married, read below)
