
These appear to be very well made wooden balls that won't get the drill near edges or corners when blind drilling into a wall. Sometimes when you're less than a foot from the drilling surface you can drag the bit better, but when you're drilling 2, 3, 4 feet or more you can't leverage the bit and it can move and some awkward ones Pulls or even awkward movements will create holes where you didn't want them. I'll never pretend to be a wall fisherman, I've seen guys who look like Hogwarts grads making pulling dummy wires so easy. For close mortals, I rely on shock spheres, glow sticks, and a bit of luck to get the job done. The most important thing I learned is to do no harm. And bumper balls are an easy way to make sure you don't fall into an ill-advised hole.
