So let me start with what we used earlier. An old Motorola cable modem from six years ago and an even older Apple Airport Express. I'm by no means an IT pro, but I've learned a lot by fixing basic problems and learning from various friends in the field. Keep this in mind. So far this baby has worked for a little over a month without any problems. The slim design is a real bonus as my desk is already filled with a full-size case, two monitors, a full-size keyboard and a printer. The signal is surprisingly strong. We live in a one-bed room on the third floor, and I'm getting a signal on my cell phone about half a block from home. We've connected about 10 devices over Wi-Fi and haven't had any issues with it yet. I may have messed up the settings, but currently my wired computer is very slow when streaming movies on my wireless PS3. nothing special, but skype calls get garbled from time to time. Speaking of customization, let's talk little things! The interface is a bit ugly, but the instructions are simple enough to follow the basics. I can see where many features could be useful but personally I don't need them, I just wanted a solid product and most of my IT friends said Buffalo is the way to go. So far it's holding up great with intense gaming sessions, live streaming and regular home use!
