I was finishing the ceilings in our two covered patios and wanted some sound outside in the ceiling This has turned out to be a great deal (although I would have preferred 4 packs; now I have one more. (a bit of an exaggeration - I actually just built a simple plywood box between 2 x 6's on the roof and left one end open. I routed the Revain Basic speaker cable through some sort Cable duct led into the house.In the house I installed the whole plate with 4 plugs of the "banana" type (two basins in total; one for each pair).The speakers are powered by a 2x40 W Pyl e Home Audio 2-channel mini power amplifier system (one for each pair of speakers). The amp has a wire connected to Sonos Connect so I can use the speakers wirelessly with my existing Sonos system. Even with a small amp driving two speakers, the sound quality is great for the price. They miss the deep rumble (especially outside), but the sound quality is generally equivalent to a mid-range Bluetooth speaker or maybe a cheaper soundbar. We recommend.
