My main concern with boots of this type is how difficult they can be to put on and take off. These boots have a two-finger-wide elastic panel just above the heel, providing the quarter just enough flexibility to make the fit secure while permitting enough play to put the boot on and take it off without scuffing it. The toes feel a little narrow to me, but I am accustomed to hiking boots that offer more freedom of movement--I can stand this tighter fit long enough to get through whatever occasion will require my wearing this dressier boot. It looks good, fits as expected, and seems well-made. Recommended.
