It was just what my wife was looking for to serve melted cheese. Everywhere we looked nothing of this size was to be found. The block of cream cheese we buy is perfect for this and it all fits nicely on a mini shelf in the fridge. I don't know how the plastic bottom holds up in the dishwasher. I think we should definitely use the top of the dishwasher. I would have liked it a lot more if the base was glass or some hard material that is microwave/dishwasher safe.
