Review on Goodyear Ultra Grip Ice Arctic 195/60 R15 88T winter by Stanislaw Puzyna ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Nice price, good quality.

I have been a tire fitter for many years. From experience, I can say that this is not the best option. Many spikes are useful on clear ice. Where did you see ice in the city and the countryside? On the river, on the skating rink . In the city, mostly snow, mud, reagents, asphalt. There is mostly snow in the village. In some European countries, the sale of this rubber was banned precisely because of the spikes (safety?!). Silicone compound in rubber - silicone is a very slippery material, especially on wet surfaces. For example, the sole in Ekko's extreme boots is made of natural rubber, it does not slip at all (but the infection is very expensive). There is NO sealing collar for a snug fit on the disc. The excitement will begin with the change of rubber, I will write more. I add. The weight of the tire size 195-60-15 is about 7.5 kg. Tires from other manufacturers weigh about 10 kg. Two or three tires out of ten require balancing more than 100 g. Rubber hairs along the bead come off quite easily (rubber elasticity is not very good). The slats inside are curly - they will immediately become clogged with dirt. The spikes are very high - about 2 mm.

Pros
  • New model.
Cons
  • A large studded area - noise and slip on wet and dry pavement is guaranteed. Metal on asphalt does not slow down.
