speakers give a strong midrange sound as others have said. In my opinion they are really loud and clear speakers which are exactly what a bike or boat needs. However, when fitted to a car that already has a decent system, they take control and are difficult to 'fit in'. This is a $65 speaker though, so if you don't want to spend too much. This is a very good option. They provided an improvement, but require a lot of adjustments to the EQ. Interestingly, other Hertz 6.5 models offer a more "polite" sound.
