Good feature set, some features

Here is my short review after using this phone for a few months. I bought it mainly because of the positive reviews (especially when compared to other similar models) and the features it offers. My number one priority was a 5.8GHz dual channel cordless phone so it wouldn't interfere with our home wireless network. It has all the features you'd expect, including a built-in answering machine, speakerphone on the handset and base, and good clarity and range. I have two problems that you should know about. Initially, some people report that the volume is too low. That means I can hear my interlocutor perfectly, but the person on the other end doesn't hear me well. I called Panasonic support and they suggested turning off the voice enhancer feature, which didn't seem to help. As far as I know, this feature mainly affects the audio from my end. However, if I speak at a good volume, the person hears me perfectly. This issue is of major concern when using a headset, so I always try to speak whenever possible. Another issue is the answering machine's strange voice interface. You might think this acts like a regular voicemail system at work, but the menu system is poorly designed. When making a road call, I expect to be prompted for all the basic choices (e.g. press 1 for this, 2 for this, etc.) such as the ability to delete the message I just heard have. Well, this option is hidden in several menus, unless of course you remember which key to press on your phone. Therefore, it is recommended to write a basic set of commands on the card and keep it in your wallet. In general, the quality of the phone is very good and meets our expectations. I just think they could do a little better at this price point, especially on voice volume. I don't know if there is a better model that works better, so check it out and decide for yourself.
