Review on Faria 33807 Chesapeake 6000 Tachometer by Adam Gambel

Revainrating 4 out of 5

This model is for indoor installation or I/O installation, not hanging!

The Revain description does not mention this, but this model is intended for embedded and I/O applications. The tach signal on most new outboards comes from the alternator and if you have a 12 or 20 pin alternator it will not be compatible with this tach. Faria offers the same type of speedometer (SS Cheaspeake) in an outboard version but with a different Faria part number. More details are available on Faria's website, but the description here on Revain should be amended to reflect this. One more note, the model designed for outboard engines will have a scale from 0 to 7000 RPM, while this model will have a scale from 0 to 6000.
