Review Date: Feb 14, 2015 I was looking for an 802.11ac repeater and found this brand that I wasn't familiar with. I knew it was a router, but it can also act as a repeater/access point. So I thought I tried. My scenario is as follows. my Apple Extreme Time Machine (latest version) is in my den and the living room is about 50 feet away from a lot of the signal reflecting footage, causing the HD streaming from my den in the den to stutter. I used to use an old Apple Extreme router (in bridge mode as a repeater), but since it could only work with "N", 300 Mbit/s is the upper limit. Setting up this Netis router is a mixed bag. I can say that setup is very easy for people who don't already have a router, but setup as a repeater/range extender is tedious. I had to fiddle with the network and wifi settings multiple times to get it working successfully. I think the hardest part was that the setup guide doesn't include setup instructions for anything other than the router. The manufacturer's website is a joke. I've looked through all the FAQs and haven't found anything relevant. But after I set it up, everything works fine. Long range, good clean transmission. No more stuttering when streaming. My advice is this. If you're just going to use it as a router, by all means, do it. You will most likely get lucky. However, if you're not a techie and want to set it up as a range extender, there are better/easier choices elsewhere. Of course you have to pay more. My rating for this device is based on: 5 stars for stable and clean connection 3 stars for easy user setup. 5 stars for price/quality/performance 1 star for poor documentation and useless website. Stars. If my review is helpful, please rate it so I can continue writing. Many Thanks. James
