They can be very expensive in big stores so I was skeptical when I saw the price and some bad reviews about them but decided to give them a try and return them if I wasn't satisfied. Received in the mail yesterday but Jersey weather is still cold. So I have no intention of wearing them any time soon, but I should have tested them first to make sure I didn't get a bad batch. I connected this cord set, took out the lightbulb and plugged it into a random outlet. Unfortunately the light didn't come on. Then I check to see if there is an on/off switch that I may have overlooked. There is no such switch. I put the bulb in the neighboring socket and the light came on! The next socket also switched on! But I was a little frustrated that the first random outlet didn't work. Correction: I checked all the bulb sockets and maybe 5 sockets didn't work. There is a small tab in the socket (see attached picture). This little tab is pushed all the way down and needs to be pulled out to allow the bulb to be fully plugged in and turned on! All sockets and lightbulbs are working now and will be installed in a month or two. I will let you know if I have any further problems. Please note that this wired lighting kit is NOT plugged into an outlet when you pull on any of the tabs! Update: I sent the set back. Not at all because of the functionality of this product. It just didn't suit my needs. After deciding on the light set, I realized that I needed a 100ft string of lights instead of attaching 2 or 3 more sets to get the length I needed. I can recommend the set and would buy it again at any time if needed. I hope this review was helpful.
