Quick summary: This was our first experience with faux wood and I'm not so impressed that I'm leaving it for another year ! Problems with this tree including the fact that right out of the box there was a stripped bolt and once assembled the tree wobbles and the center section spins at the slightest touch! This is not a design feature! π€ͺ Wood and branches are not very strong, so don't expect to be able to hold anything other than the lightest decorations on it. Continuing my review: I'm a 5ft 2in female and decided to assemble this lightweight tree myself but needed a little help right out of the box as detailed below. Parts inventory: β’ Wood arrived in 3 pieces β’ Tree stand β’ 3 screws β’ Light dowel β’ Basic instructions Instructions not detailed but I wouldn't use this tree outdoors.Made in China.Assembly: Immediately attached a plastic dowel to me The base of the lower piece made of wood !The plug appears to be in place to protect the box during transit, but must be removed prior to assembly by pulling the lid down. It's not that easy, and in fact I couldn't even do it with channel locks! After a bit of fiddling, my husband was able to take it off. Frustrating, I could do the rest myself. Idle sections open up like an umbrella. The upper part does not open in the same way. The top part looks out of place with the rest of the tree! Aside from the color being the same, it looks like it doesn't really belong with the rest of the tree, like it's a completely different type of tree. Tips for building, fluffing and branching: The instructions show that 3 wooden parts need to be stacked on a stand and the bottom part is screwed to the stand. Then connect the lights and fluff, arrange and bend the branches. (Note: only 2 of the 3 screws worked!) However, I found it easier to screw on the bottom section as instructed and then fluff, bend and shape the arms of each section before laying the next section on top. . I also connected the light to the section below before I started fluffing, shaping and bending the branches of each section. After all the layers were gathered I fluffed and sculpted again but the tree still looked very sparse. Also, I could feel the tree swaying and the middle part could rotate freely at the intersection with the lower part of the tree. Very unpleasant! Lighting: After assembly, I plugged the cord into an outlet and plugged into the wall. The lights work, they are white/clear and go through various cycles. There are no colors, only white, and the switch to control the light is annoying. There is no remote control. There are no instructions for the tree. Note: As this was a Vine item, it is non-refundable. If I were buying a tree I would attach all the parts and wire the light to make sure the light works before attempting to fluff and shape the tree. !β’ One of the 3 screws was removed right out of the box rendering it useless and contributing to the general instability of the wood! β’ The top of the tree looks like another small tree has been placed on top of the rest of the tree. β’ The middle part of the tree twists or turns at the slightest touch. annoyed! β’ The wood is too green and looks unnatural. β’ All needles on one side, the other side looks flat. β’ Even after fluffing and shaping the branches, they are still sparse and I'm not impressed. β’ The lamps are not evenly spaced and there are odd gaps. β’ A remote control for the lamps would be nice! β’ The lamps are very bright and the fast flashing cycle is annoying! π€ͺβ’ This tree is not 6 feet tall! It's about 5 feet 8 inches at best! In general, the tree is shaky, unstable, rare and will not lead anyone to believe that it is real. Knowing that it is not strong and unstable, I did not attempt to attach anything other than the lightest plastic decorations to this tree! I just can't believe it can hold that much weight! It's definitely not our eternal tree, and in fact it's already been brought into the playroom and we've replaced it with a beautiful tree. It ends up with a "regular" tree and only costs $80, but I think it costs $80 for a different tree. Having seen it in person and spent a lot of time setting it up, I'm not impressed enough to recommend it to anyone and I'm certainly sorry. However, if you don't have a lot of space for a tree, this pre-lit tree could be a good last resort. Don't have high hopes! Expect a Charlie Brown tree with white lights!
