I was wrong about Giandel

Let me first say that I have used several different inverters from different ones, they are unreliable and have almost no quality control. This unit works better than most, actually great when the voltage is above 12.8v, but the low voltage cutoff (as shown on the display) is triggered at 12.5v on the C-pillars. I use four AGM 12V 100Ah batteries in parallel as a power source, so there is a lot of power left over that I can't access because the inverter shuts down. Even the INVERTER display shows 12.4 volts! but the manual says the low voltage cutoff occurs around 9.6 (very low btw). The loads are a 200W 2A micro air conditioner at the plugs and a 1400W 12A Level 1 car charger at the terminals. batteries. Gaindel, please let me know what's going on with my inverter. Update: I bypassed the Victron battery protection and connected the inverter directly to the batteries. And it worked great. I was fooled by the readings of 12.5V at the inverter terminals. I can only assume that while the BP is putting out good voltage, it is limiting the current flow (and therefore power) to the inverter enough to trigger the inverter's under-voltage detection. I have used this inverter (without BP) to feed and count 30kWh into my electric car so far and it has worked flawlessly.

Cons
  • I have no aversion to it, everything is fine
