Great replacement if you can DIY. Nearby is a photo of a destroyed Kia OEM unit that was faulty next to a new and improved replacement unit from APDTY. Kia will not remember this huge problem. with a steering clutch, which is stupid and they want to charge $500 for the job. I saved $500 by not visiting the dealership and only paying $7-8 for the replacement part. No more rattling! The tools I used to lower the steering column to gain access to the steering column motor for a 2012 Kia Soul are: - Phillips screwdriver (to disassemble the plastic covers) - Small flathead screwdriver (to disconnect the wire clamps) - Sockets: 10mm ( 3x screws holding the metal plate under the column; disconnect the battery) 12mm (2x steering column screw next to the steering wheel) 14mm (1x steering column screw next to the pedals) - Torx T27 pinion for steering wheel disassembly.
