I've had it installed in my garden with a hammock for almost a week now and so far so good. We've had a couple of days of heavy rain and wind (you gotta love PNW weather) and it's held up well, and the falling little branches of my giant evergreens didn't tear it apart either - so that's a plus. I love how big this thing is. I covered one end by crossing the guy lines in the corner to the opposite side so it's more of a wall than a door. On the other end I have one valve pointing straight down and the other open for easy entry. It blocks the wind much better than my expensive hex tarp. I didn't carry it but I think it weighs about the same as my HH hex tarp, although this tarp is larger and has more guy lines, brackets and pegs, the fabric feels lighter and probably less durable than mine Tarp Hennessy, but this tarp is half the price of my other tarp and I have a few hammocks that I would like to cover if I can get my kids to go camping. This is a great option as an extra shelter when camping or even on a hot sunny day to cover a children's sandpit or dog run/pen.
