Excellent pickup. Quoting the late great Frank Zappa; "Not an ounce of cereal here." I replaced the Shelter 201 with this AT unit. The replacement pin for the Shelter is over double the price of the AT so I figured I'd see how the AT would match up. After a good 40 album break, AT really opened up. Good, clean, crisp highs and deep, subterranean bass. This wagon does a great job with complex music like 70's Prog Rock or Beck and the aforementioned MR. zappa It really shines on ringing percussion like woodcuts and vibes. I have to admit that the AT compares very well with the much more expensive Shelter. The biggest difference is the loss of some sound stages, sounds seem to stay a bit closer to the speakers with AT, a slight loss of air around the instruments. The only complaints I have are that the head body is heavy and the stylus feels a little flimsy compared to the Shelter, but with a $50 replacement I guess that's to be expected. I had it on hand too.
