I bought this for my Windows 7 desktop PC I'm tired of running the cable from my bedroom router to my living room PC. I have a Linksys e3000 router, which is a premium router. I wanted a wireless USB device that would allow me to connect at 300MB/s. This one fit the bill and was reasonably priced, so I went with it. After downloading the correct drivers from the internet, I was good to go. Unfortunately, I could not connect above 130 MB/s. It looks like this device will only work at full speeds of 300MB/s on the 2.4GHz band (not the 5GHz band) and only at higher bandwidths. I configured my router this way, but it still didn't reach the full 300 MB/s. It would be bad, but it wouldn't break the deal. But then the device does not keep a stable connection. The connection kept dropping even though the router was working properly. This was confirmed by using my iPad, iPhone and Windows laptop to connect to my router every time the connection dropped. They all worked fine. Because of these issues, I have decided to return the device.
