Review on Bora Portamate PM-1000: Effortlessly Mobilize Your Heavy Tools and Equipment with Adjustable Universal Mobile Base for Enhanced Shop Convenience and Stability by Andy Thorson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Particularly suitable for narrow base tools such as planers, band saws and drill presses. Spins almost on the spot.

I'm addicted to it! I bought 3 of these and they make my woodworking workshop easy to clean and organize. Surprisingly stable in the down position. Because the wheels are outside the perimeter of the base, the tool is more stable than if it were standing directly on the ground thanks to the sturdy feet it rests on. You have to be careful with the levers to raise and lower the wheels. . Although they are made of thick aluminium, they extend beyond the width of the base. I set mine to only turn off when the tool is moved. So I don't trip over it at work. As long as you are familiar with these levers and assemble them the way you prefer, you will be very happy. These kits also come with an incredible amount of parts and hardware to get your hands on the big tools. I've used mine on instruments with relatively small bases. Small bases are a dream because you can almost rotate the tool. I suppose it might be a different experience for very wide basic instruments. There you may need rollers on both ends.
