Review on Cape Cod Polish 8828 Polishing by Justin Puranik

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good - with limitations in packaging

This polish is useful in certain scenarios. I photograph antiques, so I spend a lot of time polishing silver. They are excellent for lightly tarnished pieces, but they do not tolerate a thick layer of tarnish. However, they are incredibly quick and convenient, and for items that would normally have been serviced but have just gone dark, they get the job done very quickly. They also leave a nice finish on items and keep them from tarnishing for a while. Knowing what type of work I need these tools for, I would give five stars for ease of use and workmanship, but taking one star off for packaging. Each tin pouch is sealed to keep the wipes moist, but for some reason the pouches contain two wipes instead of one meaning both dry out once the pouch is opened. The wipes can be reused but must be dampened with mineral spirits or vegetable oil, which is a problem for something designed for convenience. I'd rather start with a fresh wipe each time it's gone than start renewing half the wipes in a can. I usually carry a bag with me and it annoys me to have to carry a bag around to put an unused tissue in after one of the tissues has run out. This is probably a very specific annoyance, but might be of help to someone? Either way, this is a solid product if you need to tackle daily fading fast.
