My camera phone is broken so I can't upload the picture but as many other reviewers have pointed out the stand is a flat matte print, blue like the image, but "gold" is almost non-existent, definitely more tan/pale yellow than close to gold, and absolutely no hint of metal. That's the main reason I'm giving it 4 stars, simply because in the photos it looks like it has metallic gold that shimmers. I like that the cork base is slightly smaller than the top so it's not visible through the sides. The coaster material has an almost chalky feel, which I really like because not only is it smooth - my cups don't just slide uselessly over it, it offers enough strength/resistance to keep them where they are. Can I donate them? No, "Gold" is not gold or metallic, just a matte tan/pale yellow. Should I return it? Also no, they work and the actual colors are not unpleasant, just not as advertised.
