Review on eSynic 1x2 HDMI Splitter: Full HD 1080P 3D Amplifier Switch for HDTV PS3 PS4 DVD PC Blu-ray Player by Timothy Louis

This review applies to both the 4K splitter version and the HD version. After the RCN cable replaced the Tivo cable box in my office with a new one, I was no longer able to access TV signals from my computer. I have a Hauppauge Colossus 2 board on my PC connected to an RCN Tivo set top box so I can watch CNBC, Fox Business and Bloomberg while I work. I bought 4K and HD splitters and they both solved the problem and I was able to access TV signals again. I read that the problem is caused by HDCP. The 4K version comes with a 5V power supply, the HD version does not. According to my multimeter, the 4K version draws 0.32A (1.6W), and HD - 0.14A (0.7W). Picture quality was excellent and (as expected) exactly the same for the 4K and HD splitter as the cable box only produces an HD signal. I saved the 4K version for future use and installed an HD splitter that uses the USB port on the back of my computer for power.
