does not hold water. There are also ice packs. Which keeps the air cool/very comfortable. However, condensation during defrosting is not very pleasant. It consists of two pieces of foam that are placed under the cold packs. One after the other. However, they do not absorb all the condensate. There are 3 packs. Very good. It's optional, so you can always have one in the freezer. But worked shakily for at least 1/2 day and then stopped working. Oh, and it has a USB cord but no outlet. I had an extra (who doesn't have one) and it worked fine. Clever design - it was well thought out. Mine just didn't last 12 hours. I sent mine back. Don't try again.
