May work on some machines?

Well, the air conditioning belt didn't work on the Ford 3.5 Twin Turbo Eco. I had to borrow a set of 2. As automakers keep coming up with more idiotic designs, we need more keys, tools, and ideas to work on. It seems like a huge tool and can stretch some straps too much? I thought it would be smaller, I think it will make a bigger difference in the future, so I just got it to be ready. New cars are fitted with elastic straps to reduce weight without using a tensioner seems very useful but I'm…

Works, magnet is not strong enough

Used once. I used it on a 2005 Mazda 3 with a 2.4 liter engine. The magnet does not hold well on the crankshaft pulley. But once I figured out how to position it, and with a friend's help, I was able to turn the crank and put the strap on pretty easily. I had to use it multiple times to fully tighten the belt, but each time it was easier - the belt was about 99% tight after the first try. I would definitely NOT buy the plastic version of this product. , there is no way to be strong enough. Take

Straight tight belt. First Attempt

2012 Ford Fusion V6 3L Water Pump Belt. I tried the zipper method, it was hopeless. Then I waited for the delivery. Tip 1: Use a spacer behind the clip to take out the game. This car does not have an open crankshaft nut, so it is very difficult to turn the crankshaft with a wrench. If you run out of battery, or perhaps you disconnect the battery and use a smaller battery, you should be able to simply flick the ignition and slowly (10+ tries) turn the pulley and tension the belt perfectly. I…

Will not fit BMW 650 AC belt pulley

I bought this to install an AC belt on my BMW 650. The tool did not "grab" the AC pulley and the magnet is not strong enough to hold it in place. When I used the belt installation tool, the tool kept falling off the pulley. Regardless of whether I install it from the top (for counter-clockwise installation) or from the bottom (for clockwise installation), the tool came off the pulley when the belt began to tighten. I ordered another tool with a screw (as recommended by BMW) holding the tool to…

Very effective

I hate stretchy straps. But what I hate the most is tightening straps without the right tools. This doesn't work for every application, but it works for most who don't have a dedicated tool. Works on Kia/Hyundai with tension straps. Works on some Mazdas. I will not work for BMW or Ford Fiesta. They have special tools. I haven't tried it on new Chevy cars with AC belts, but I used a Gates 91030 for this. The tool inserts into the back of the crank. It's uncomfortable, but it was the only way to…

Doesn't fit my Mazda 5 2008 AC belt

Three stars because the design is not universal. The picture shows the wrong gap which made the tool not work in my case. I tried the tool on the upper and lower AC pulleys on my 2008 Mazda 5 and it didn't fit either pulley. On the top pulley the clearance was just the right width but not deep enough. He fell over due to belt tension. The notch on the lower pulley was too narrow to fit over the pulley nose. I had to resort to other means to complete the repair. I simply used a screwdriver under

Worked on my E70 BMW X5 3.0

The BMW belt tensioner tool is $150 so I wanted to find a cheaper tool to install a new A/C belt on our 2010 X5 3.0. Some said this tool worked while others said it didn't fit the pulley. I think both were right. I could use it, but probably not in the way it was originally intended. I placed the belt over the crankshaft pulley and then aligned the belt on the "install side" of the tool and started at the bottom of the air conditioner pulley. I held the tool on the pulley with my left hand and…

Too big for a Mazda 5 minivan (2012 and after)

I bought this tool because it looked better than the others. my work. The Mazda 5 minivan has two annoying problems that are even more annoying when combined: it has a stretch to fit the serpentine belt AND there is almost no space between the pulleys and the inside of the passenger-side wheel. It's hard work and there's no room for it. There wasn't physically enough space between the pulleys and the wheel well for this tool. separate installer and pullers, because they seem thinner. You can…
