control board needs to be sealed from elements - but warranty service and support actually works!

The control board on top of the unit is susceptible to water intrusion, causing the board to short out and no longer work. That is what happened to mine after a very brief and short rain spell that allowed water to run off the top of the cooler lid down under the control board. It caused the board to short out from eventual corrosion (after only about three weeks). However, I give them back stars as I contacted them, told them it had been exposed to rain and yet they still honored the warranty on the unit and sent me a new control board. I was impressed, since as a Chinese product, I figured after sales support would be non-existent. But kudos to them, as they worked with me and got my unit back in operation. I plan to seal the control board this time with 3M 4200, but I will also be much more careful about allowing the top of the cooler to get wet. Have decided to always keep a custom made vinyl cover over the top to help shed any rain or possible spills from my beer sitting on top of the cooler. :) This thing is nice though, it really cools down nicely, doesn't take much battery and it is so nice to have all this room since I don't have to fill it half full of ice anymore. It is amazing what you can get in a small cooler when you get to use 100% of the space.
