Review on Enhanced Motorcraft YH1933 Heater Blend Actuator for Optimal Performance by Justin Newport

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Perfect fit for my 2012 Ford Expedition. The passenger side is easy, the driver's side is not, but there are tricks.

My 2012 Ford Expedition driver's side thermostat has stopped working. I only had cold air. The culprit turned out to be a mixed door operator and this genuine Ford part fits exactly as I took it off. At the same time, the drives on the passenger side and the driver's side changed. These drives are notorious for their failures. The passenger side is simple. Simply remove the radio and surrounding panel and you can easily replace it. The driver's side is a real bummer. NOTE: Ford published procedure is NOT required. You will need to unload the air conditioner and drain the heater core so you can remove the heater block. There is a better way that I found on the internet. Remove both seats, remove the center console, and then cut off the portion of the right air duct that is just above the floor. You can then replace the driver's side faucet actuator with a little work. When I was done I screwed the cut channel back to the main body with metal zip ties. This approach worked very well and doesn't require you to drain the AC, drain the heater core, remove that dirt, etc. IMPORTANT: Make sure you disconnect power (by pulling the fuse) from the mixer drive circuits before installing new ones moves. . When you are done, there is a procedure that will automatically calibrate the actuators that you must follow so that they regulate the temperature correctly. It's easy to find online, but be aware.
