Why did I wait so long to buy this camera!?

I bought a Nikon D90 from Revain in October 2009. It was an improvement over the Nikon D50. I thought the D90 would meet my needs, but it lacked the focusing speed and ability to satisfy my growing desire for HDR photography. I finally broke down and bought the D300 when I snagged it for $1,449 from Revain during a window short sale. God I'm glad I broke down and bought this camera! The D90 is no match for this camera, despite sharing many of the same components. One of my favorite features is the use of a programmable button to select bracketing, and this camera supports 3 to 9 EVs compared to just 3 on my D90! Wow! If you're a serious amateur photographer trying to decide between the D90 and D300, spend your extra cash and jump on the D300. I promise you won't regret it. The 51-point focusing system is much faster and more accurate than the 11-point D90. Also, the camera controls are much better than the D90 for changing exposure/focus settings while recording. You no longer have to take the camera off your face to make edits that miss the perfect moment or composition. Finally, increasing the shutter speed from 1/4000 to 1/8000 is a big difference! Provided you have enough light and a fast enough lens, the extra shutter speed allows you to freeze the motion and see things you've never seen before. I'm a true fan of the D300s and I'm sure I won't miss a moment in a photo due to focus or exposure limitations. BY THE WAY . I use Sigma lenses and all Sigma lenses work perfectly with the D300s. Having owned and used Nikon, Tamron and Sigma lenses I have found that the Sigma is by far the best lens for the money. I hope Sigma retains a smaller market share so I can continue to own great lenses at half the price of these overpriced competitors. :)
