There are better night vision camcorders, yes. For the price, however, you can't beat this one. However, the night vision IR light cannot be switched off, so the battery will quickly drain in NV mode. I replaced the stock 1200MA battery with a 2300MA battery and got an hour of continuous NV recording with 30% battery remaining. If you use it sporadically or have occasional screen failures, you can probably increase this time. Bring a few spare 2300mA batteries and you'll have enough power for the whole night. Combined with aftermarket lighting, it's a great value, costing less than a hundred dollars to get into a DVR night vision system.
