Review on Compact Grey 2 Quart Ninja AF080 Mini Air Fryer With Nonstick Coating And Quick Set Timer For Effortless Cooking by Bill Lacy

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I use mine almost every day. Still going strong.

First: at first use I thought that the cooking temperatures were unable to be changed except by changing mode. That is: I thought that each mode had a set temperature. That is ONLY true of the MAX CRISP mode. which is the mode I first tried to change the temperature. The other modes: you CAN change the temperature setting.I use this thing nearly every day.Still works like a champ.PROS:- reliable- cooks as good as you'd hope if you have experience with an air fryer. It does a FANTASTIC job on frozen foods (potatoes of all sorts, mini pizzas, breaded fish fillets, mozzarella sticks). They come out as crisp as you can possibly desire. It does a VERY GOOD job on pork loin and boneless, skinless chicken breast. it does a so-so job on burgers, including frozen burger patties. (I definitely prefer a frying pan for burgers.)- easy to clean the "bucket" and the removable parts that go in the bucket (but see below)CONS:- Blows things around. Not suitable for things like sandwiches unless you pin down the top bread with at LEAST three toothpicks. If you add pepperoni to your frozen mini pizza, pin down every single slice!- CLEANING- - - like many non-stick items, crud tends to build up on the non-stick surface. In this item, especially on the sides of the bucket near the top. Of course you can't use anything more abrasive than a non-stick-safe cleaning pad to try to get this stuff off- - - more problematic is that the same stuff accumulates in the top area (the "ceiling") of the inside of the fryer, which is not easily removable or easily accessible. This includes the heating element most prominently, which probably doesn't suffer much from this, but also includes the fan above the element (and so the fan also accumulates greasy oily gunk over time, and you can't really get to it at all to clean it)So: I wish the heating element and fan blade were easily detachable so that they could be cleaned in a sink. Probably that's not a good design idea because some people would carelessly re-attach them incorrectly and that might cause a hazard in the kitchen (for those particular people).

Pros
  • Air Fryers
Cons
  • May not be able to handle repeated use at high temperatures
