This small vise is almost too big for a compact vise. Something to consider if you really need a vise for a tight space. In addition, it is exceptionally well made for its petite size. You really can't find a better one in its class on the market right now. You will need to look for vintage and restore it to match this vise. Having said all that, there are a few minor issues I've encountered. Mine was not cleaned of debris well during reassembly and the debris ended up in the grease on the vise main bolt. It feels like it's filled with sand. When disassembling, I found a large amount of iron debris in the lubricant. I can only assume that this is left over from editing. I just cleaned and re-greased everything. Problem solved. There was some flux left over from pouring so I filled it up. I would say that a total of 15-20 minutes of cleaning and prep work greatly improved this little vise. I cannot stress enough how strong and well made this vise is compared to others in its size class. Yes, they are 2-3 times more expensive than other compact vises, but they are many times superior in capabilities. With minimal care and maintenance, not only will it last a lifetime, but it can also be passed on from generation to generation. You won't regret the premium price you paid, and it fits in almost any compact space.
