Review on πŸ“„ Epson ES-200 Color Portable Document Scanner with ADF for PC and Mac: Sheet-fed and Duplex Scanning Capabilities by Charles Salgado

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Picky but good at document scanners

Good overall, a few usability issues here and there. For its size, it's a little heavy for travel, especially with an AC adapter. Documents tend to twist about half a degree left or right as they pass through the rollers, so you'll have very little deflection in whatever you're scanning. rather light blue. When you press the scan button, if it doesn't get a little lighter than the blue, a pop-up will appear on your PC, blocking everything until you click OK. If you can't afford a second colored LED, could you at least make the difference between the two states more obvious? He didn't like my (powered!) USB 3.0 extension hub. It is not connected in series. Moved it to a direct connection to my PC and everything was fine again. There is also no button to remove jams. The instructions state that once the jam is cleared, power cycle the device. The software is fine. There are small bugs that don't take a lot of fiddling to fix (e.g. when I set autodetect to color/grayscale I still get black and white scans, huh?). Auto rotation is not very good. If you scan a lot of documents, get something nicer. It is more suitable for occasional use. You get what you pay for.
