Review on Revolutionizing Precision Measurement: Introducing the IGaging Electronic Absolute with Bluetooth Connectivity by Jay Swearengin

How to get there

So for $50 you can automatically upload your measurements to your phone or whatever. The caliper is not too big so for this comfort at this price I decided to give it a try. As I said, Bluetooth works like a keyboard. So when you use it (I'm on my iPhone) you're basically removing all keystrokes. This means you'll need to disconnect it from your phone to customize headers when using a spreadsheet app and texting. PITA, but it works to quickly add dimensions. I had to straighten the front sprocket on the bike and it was really nice to see what my tolerances were. The last issue I had with this device is that it doesn't have an auto shut off. I remember someone saying this and not thinking about it, but after watching it last night and this afternoon and realizing it's still on, this omission absolutely annoys me. The batteries are 2032 and I hate wasting them which is why I say this is total iGaging incompetence. Absolute noob mistake for me. So for $50 you get a hacky way to get measurements on your cell phone or whatever, absolutely effective thing to remember! PITA to turn it off to be able to use the keyboard again. And a totally incompetent oversight of skipping the automatic shutdown timer in this product's software design.
