These adapters were perfect for our trip to the UK. USB sockets allow us to use them to charge our phones from UK sockets. We've also used them to charge our laptop and camera batteries, and to run a hair dryer. IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a plug adapter, NOT a voltage converter. If you are using it in the UK please note that the electricity is 220 volts as opposed to the typical US electricity of 120 volts. If you connect a device to it that cannot handle 220 volts without a converter, it will burn out. Our laptop power cords have built-in voltage conversion (we had a MacBook Pro and a Microsoft Surface). Phones are usually connected to USB jacks. The hair dryer I used was dual voltage and I connected it to 220v before the trip. But please make sure your electronics are ok before you buy and use it, or you'll fry a $90 hair straightener. This product does what it's supposed to - it's your fault if you don't check your devices and the amperage they can handle.
