I bought a shower head and hose assembly about a year ago after my mom ordered one for each of her bathrooms. What impressed me the most was the hose assembly, which is much more flexible than many older hoses - its mobility is almost as nimble as a chain, and I've found it never kinks because of this (which can cause the showerhead to spit water). in all sorts of awkward directions!) I opted for an additional filter with my original purchase. It is recommended to change the filter every 6 months; However, I found that this magic filter lasted over 6 months with two of us showing it at least once a day. My husband and I love everything about this shower head and filter. I immediately fitted a replacement filter and immediately came back here to order another to have on hand when it came time to replace it again. For me, the telltale sign of a filter change was hard water buildup on the shower head itself. I soaked it in the cleaner I bought to clean our hot tub (Oh Yuk Hot Tub System Cleaner) and in about 30 minutes I had it a sparkling clean showerhead (I'm sure white vinegar would work too). Between a filter change and a little cleaning of the shower head, everything is like new and works fantastic. To be honest I can't recommend it enough!
