Ringing the trailer wiring with a multimeter is a headache, anyone who has done this will attest. I love this inexpensive but very valuable tool in my power tool box. If one of my trailers or anyone else has a problem, it quickly lets me know if the problem is with the car's wiring or the trailer. While trailers are usually to blame, this will be a HUGE time saver as you won't have to redo every connection and ground on your trailer only to find that it was a faulty wiring harness the entire time. As far as it can be used in realtime, I haven't found an instance where I needed it. This tool costs less than a quarter of a pound with cheese, so there's no reason not to have it in your toolbox!
