Review on Philips 433557 100 Watt Equivalent Bright: Superior Lighting Solution by Wendy Benson

I use them as plant lighting in my aquariums. I have very delicate and exotic species that need good bright light. I need a very intense light source that can penetrate all the water and still provide enough energy to keep the plants on the ground. I've been using Philips T2 Twister for a while and get great results. I used to use 13w Twister bulbs (60w equivalent) but now I'm using these 23w bulbs which are twice as bright. I run them on timers for 8 hours every day, and in the last year and a half I haven't even reached half of their advertised 10,000 hour lifespan. These are incredibly bright lamps with 1600 lumens. I have to be careful to protect my eyes when working in my aquariums or they burn permanent images into my eyes within minutes. The only thing that bothers me is the heat they give off. If you need light for a smaller device I would suggest maybe going for the 13w version. If you don't care about heat, then definitely go for 23 watts.
