There is one thing we don't want in our attempts to make a nice shirt or any other piece of clothing. it's a failure. HTV panels don't come cheap, so it's important to get a good result every time. This mat is king when it comes to what we need, SEQUENCE. The mat offers fantastic consistency in terms of: Surface: Large area, strong enough to provide a smooth surface and an even pressure contact area. No more using towels or fading your kitchen table. Temperature: The inner layers ensure a constant, even temperature on the surface. Towels, tables and other surfaces can have very uneven heat absorption rates, resulting in poor adhesion in random places. The underside also stays nice and cool so heat doesn't damage the surface underneath. - Moisture: Towels can temporarily absorb and release moisture from who knows what's in your pillow. - Time: As the mat's surface is constant smooth and temperature time pressing can be much more accurate and consistent. This is incredibly important for multicolor designs and hot peel settings. All of these variables combined can lead to disappointing results. The mat requires a lot of guesswork and adjustments. The rug got my easy press almost to the consistency of seashells, 5+ color shirts are easy.
