I bought two of these for my elderly father who doesn't want anything to do with cordless or cellular phones. After spending a lot of money buying cordless phones and still not finding the phones, you can go back to base for charging. Or he leaves the phone on and never hangs up after a call. That means when you call back, the line is busy. That was the answer and the buttons are nice and big so he can easily dial a number and they're connected directly to the wall. I would recommend it to any elderly parent.
