Significant improvement over the previous Type C hook. This hook spirals into the dough, pressing it against the bottom and sides of the bowl and folding it for a very good kneading motion. This is fine for softer doughs where I really don't want the gluten to develop much (soft pizza dough, flatbreads, etc.). a dozen or so hand creases on the table before the first climb. The old C hook just let the dough wrap around the hook so I always had to stop to take it off. This design certainly works better with more batter in the bowl, the smallest amount of batter I will make is 2 cups of flour. Anything less than that and it won't mix effectively. Although it's listed as dishwasher safe, I hand wash and dry it. It's aluminum with a hard plastic coating that should protect it from the highly alkaline chemicals used in the dishwasher, but it only takes a small tear or cut to get the detergent onto the aluminum and it will corrode very quickly. It takes 5 seconds to wash and dry with soapy water, hope to get many years of it.
