Do not buy the KL26M1XOB stand mixer.

I liked the finish. However, there is no kneading during the test. I was trying to make a batch of English muffins and this dough hook left about 1/2 inch on the sides of the bowl that I had to scrape and scrape. I'm sorry to have to neuter that dough hook. I've had great results with KitchenAid mixers in the past. I even checked the Kitchenaid website to make sure I picked the right hook. I'm sorry to say that the # part was correct. It's useless.

Perfect fit for my 23 year old KSM5 and works much better than the J-hook

I was in the process of replacing my old leaky bread maker which did all the kneading for me before moving on to the Hand finished reading about people using kitchen utensils. I never thought about it because the J-hook that comes with the machine doesn't stop the dough from rising. This hook is perfect for my 23 year old KSM5 and works much better than the J hook. I can now bake more loaves at once with little effort, knead in half the time and instead only have to keep one appliance out of…

If you bake a lot of bread, this hook is for you.

This dough hook kneads dough much better than the C-handle that came with my mixer. It seems to work much better with heavier doughs and stickier doughs, such as rye breads like cumin and pumpernickel. I really like that the tool is very easy to clean and even if the dough has hardened in places, it comes off with almost no effort. I bake a lot of bread for my family (four to five loaves a week) and with my arthritis taking its toll I had to buy an electric mixer that can knead. It makes light…

A "huge " upgrade from the C-Hook! (May require a drivetrain upgrade.)

Much more effective than the old c-hook for dough. We make a lot of pizza dough and he always goes on the C-hook and just spins around; this presses it down and kneads it thoroughly. Kitchenaid advises against using this on older Pro 6 (KP2671) blenders like mine due to the updraft generated, but careful analysis of the parts diagrams shows that the newer Pro 600 (KP26M1X) has a similar drivetrain, with the planetary gear replacing the gear case, worm gear , Washers and Gaskets, Pro 6…

It fits the K5SS model and works great.

Purchased for use with the K5SS model, fits and works. This pizza dough kneads much better than the "C" hook that came with my mixer. In fact, I considered throwing out the mixer because it kneaded the dough so badly that before it almost just kneaded the dough and then rolled the ball of dough in a circle around the bowl without actually kneading. It was almost impossible to get a smooth dough that would pass the window pane test. Consequently, I kneaded by hand and got much better results…

FITS KITCHENAID K5SS

In July 2014 I threw in the cubes and against the odds ordered this spiral dough hook hoping it would fit my K5SS Heavy Duty Kitchenaid Lift Bowl Mixer I bought in the early 1990's ! I am very happy to report that it fits in my blender and makes a huge difference in the bread baking process. While I used to knead whole grain dough with hook C for at least ten minutes, kneading with a spiral hook now only takes four to five minutes. And the dough is kneaded to a much finer texture. My bread goes

The best prostitute brings the best bread!

Oh my god! Folks (gender doesn't matter), I've been working with the original kneader on my KA since '89. I love my KA and love making bread dough and I just took the fight to the dough by scaling the hook like a right of way. I don't know what year this test design came out for my KA but lets just say after using this hook for the first time and then validating it for the 3rd and 4th time let's just say what years i got it have not used. Change this crochet dough style to "LOST YEARS"! That's…

Where has this thing been all my life?

I have been baking bread every week for many years, as well as other baked goods that require dough. The standard C-hook that always came with Kitchenaid stand mixers was sorely lacking. The dough is not kneaded, but kneaded. And they tend to (and unless you look closely) pull the dough over the top of the hook and twist it around the nozzle stem and spring. What a pain to clean! I have a vintage (1984) Kitchenaid Hobart K5SS lift mixer, it's a real workhorse. (I love that old trusty stuff…

Very nice design improvement over the old c hook style.Recommended upgrade.

Significant improvement over the previous Type C hook. This hook spirals into the dough, pressing it against the bottom and sides of the bowl and folding it for a very good kneading motion. This is fine for softer doughs where I really don't want the gluten to develop much (soft pizza dough, flatbreads, etc.). a dozen or so hand creases on the table before the first climb. The old C hook just let the dough wrap around the hook so I always had to stop to take it off. This design certainly works…
