Review on High-Quality Starter Replacement for OMC Evinrude Johnson Outboards 200-300HP (1988-2011) - Part Numbers: 391511, 396235, 397023 by Tom Goodlow

Order started a year ago for 1996. Johnson 200 received very quickly and worked great. Used the boat for 2 months this year and it just stopped working. I ordered another one and it lasted a day. I will return it for another one but it's not very good quality. I will try again before getting a refund. Took a 1 year old starter apart to see what was going on. The plastic assembly holding the brushes was found to have become hot and warped, preventing the brushes from reaching the hobbyist. As I said, not very good quality 😠
