Review on 🔊 Tendak Soundbar Amplifier with Extractor Converter by Rod Evans

I bought this unit in the hope that it would allow me to use my TV remote to control the volume on my old AV system. My new TV can output sound via Bluetooth, an optical connection or an ARC (HDMI) connection. I was not satisfied with the Bluetooth sound quality. The optical connection provided the best quality, but the volume was fixed. I ordered an ARC certified HDMI cable and a Tendak ARC audio extractor. When I received this I was disappointed with the instructions for use. Luckily this wasn't necessary; I just hooked up an HDMI cable and a couple of RCA audio cables and it worked! Changing the volume level on the TV remote changed the volume on my AV system. However, there was a small problem; The maximum volume was too low. I realized that the Tendak adapter had a built in headphone amp, so I dropped the RCA cables used to connect to the AV system and plugged a 1/8" mini-plug into the mini-jack on the adapter. end of the cable into my AV system. This solved the signal strength issue. The sound quality is way better than I was hoping for (and audibly better than Bluetooth). The only problem is that when I turn off the TV, the adapter somehow goes into standby mode. When I turn the TV back on the adapter is still in standby mode. I have to "press" the volume (on the TV remote) up or down to activate the adapter. Otherwise, the TV turns on, but no volume. This is a minor inconvenience that may be unique to my TV or AV system and may not be related to the adapter.
