With that in mind, my desert home runs through portable air conditioners like no other. Of all the units I've had around the house, this is the only one that cools quickly, efficiently, and silently, has lasted over a year of daily use, and has required NO repairs or maintenance other than draining the reservoir and cleaning the vents - The auto shut off actually works. I couldn't love this conditioner more. Like anything else, if you don't take care of it by regularly draining and cleaning it, you probably won't get the longevity that I have. It's been two years and it still works like I just bought it!
