The wooden stick in each Q-Tip has been designed to provide a stronger and more stable device that will not bend during use. Otherwise, you can just use the rolled paper sticks available at any pharmacy. This product is clearly not up to the task. First, tampons are shorter than regular cotton swabs, so they don't give you much reach. But a more important issue is the extremely low quality of this product. The wooden stick is very thin. This is less than half the diameter of other wood wipers I've used. I broke this wand easily with very little pressure every time I used it. And don't expect to do anything fancy with those tampons. There is a very small amount of cotton at each end and you can poke or scrape the end of the wooden stick through the cotton. It really looks like the maker had plenty of extra toothpicks and just wrapped a few cotton strands around each end. I cannot recommend this product to anyone.
