I'm a little unsure about the gap. They specifically say "no gaps". The original AC/Delco spark plugs (31 years old!) were set to 0.035. When I took them off the mic they were a bit wider (.038-.040) but I assume that was due to metal evaporation from the electrodes after 31 years of firing. All the new Bosch spark plugs were almost dead at .050. I left them as is and installed them with some anti-seize and then ran them. Just ride well and seem smoother. I found that one of the 8 original spark plugs would not always fire as it seemed a bit rough at idle. I haven't noticed any rough edges yet, maybe that was the problem. In any case, the old truck deserves a new set of spark plugs after 31 years.
