Review on 📀 Viore DVP405V DVD Player: Enhance your Viewing Experience with 1080p Upscaling and HDMI in Sleek Black by Jim Velasco

I ordered the Viore from Walmart.com for $24 with free shipping through their website to the store. Several people at Walmart.com have complained about quality control issues. I bought one anyway, hoping to beat Viore's high quality control. Plus, returning is easy. I immediately had concerns. Toshiba is a great TV designer and manufacturer, but their poorly written manuals are legendary. The Panasonic is much better but needs some work. Viore surpasses them. The instruction manual is terrible and says something completely wrong. It instructs owners to set the HDMI output to output. HDMI is only output and cannot be set. There is no mention of a reboot, which is very important for this device as it appears to have internal flash memory. It took me, a gadget specialist, 30 minutes to sync the device with my Sanyo LCD. The Viore user guide doesn't mention the installation order, but that's what it needed. I had to turn on the TV first, set it to the HDMI input, and then turn on the Viori. Some Walmart buyers mention plugging and replugging the HDMI cable before it syncs to the TV. This is the player's HDMI port. The result surprises. I definitely got the converted picture and the audio was great. After two hours of gaming, I decided to start tweaking. I noticed the menu wasn't set to 1080, so I changed it from 720 to 1080. The image went blank immediately. For some reason the device could not send the best signal to my TV. Here's a deal killer. No matter what I did, I couldn't get Viore to relink the image to my TV. No matter what I do, I have a "No Signal" TV. Yes, I turned off the player for the night. I found a small hole next to the display that looks like a reset button. It's not like this. There is no reset in the instructions. My advice is to forget that player and get the workhorse Magnavox MDV2100/F7. Its HDMI cable or component A/V cable (tri-color coded RCA connectors on each end, red, white, and yellow). It comes with a cable. Viore does not include a cable. Magnavox requires no configuration. It just works.
