Great Buy: DVD Player

This is a very good buy at a very good price. It works great with an HDMI cable and also has a USB port for more movie watching options.

Pros
  • A Dream Come True
Cons
  • Damaged

Revainrating 5 out of 5

the image keeps disappearing.

I bought this 2 years ago and the DVD part worked fine initially. We have such a second TV and hardly ever use it. Now the screen occasionally goes blank for a second when watching a DVD (even right out of the box). I tried connecting it to an external hard drive but it never worked properly. Also, the device is too long.

Pros
  • Hard wearing finish
Cons
  • No performance

Reads almost all media, great price, HDMI out

I hate spending a lot of money on a DVD player because they all have reliability issues regardless of the price. Either the lid feed mechanism breaks or tracking issues arise. I bought this Wallymart online for $20. So far, it has been able to read DVD+R, DVD-R, CDR, and DVD+RW media created with various software and hardware. It can play CDR photo albums, CDR with MP3, mpg4, VOBs, etc. The playback menu works with home DVDs created with DVD Styler. My only difficulty was getting audio to work…

STUPID REMOTE CONTROL: TV & Video

The remote works but is completely ridiculous. Zoom and Menu are the same button. Click to enlarge, long press to go to menu. Who the heck scales more than with a menu? So. Nobody. Not to mention that the keys are not backlit. So if you want to go to the menu, you're looking for the wrong button. Because they are all exactly the same. Don't use the keys too often or you'll erase the seal on them and NEVER see what you're doing! The Play/Pause button doesn't even come close to the Skip/Go to…

Pros
  • Feels good

Great player considering the features and price

I saw this player for sale at Walmart but didn't buy it at first and missed it. then, after a long search, I bought it in an out-of-the-way shop outside of town. It was on sale, but the regular price was actually similar (just a few dollars less than Amazon). The reason I found this player is because I need a player that can play media via USB. Others that play via USB are much larger. I had heard of the name Viore before (in my work) so I figured it couldn't be that bad. On to the important…

Good player. Poor build quality

I ordered the Viore from Walmart.com for $24 with free shipping through their website to the store. Several people at Walmart.com have complained about quality control issues. I bought one anyway, hoping to beat Viore's high quality control. Plus, returning is easy. I immediately had concerns. Toshiba is a great TV designer and manufacturer, but their poorly written manuals are legendary. The Panasonic is much better but needs some work. Viore surpasses them. The instruction manual is terrible…
